People have been asking about the Blackwing Pen for a long time, and we’ve been listening.

We made a pen for an everyday act that rarely gets much thought: writing. We’ve been quietly shaping and reshaping this idea for years. Whether it’s a single line or a full page, we wanted to get it right. For us, "right" means focusing on the fine details that writers, artists, and daily pen users notice. That's why it was worth going through countless iterations and tweaks to craft the perfect tool.

Tactile click

The Blackwing Pen has a hefty click from its dual-spring mechanism. The magnetic cap makes disassembly effortless, allowing the cap to snap back into place with ease.

Machined Aluminum body

The Blackwing Pen is made from machined aluminum and features an ergonomic half-moon shape that feels natural in your hand and comfortable for prolonged writing and drawing sessions. Inspired by our pencils, the flat side of the pen is designed to stay put on your workspace. Each pen weighs 31g / 1.1oz, balancing feeling substantial, yet not too heavy.

Rollerball cartridge

The Schmidt medium rollerball cartridge glides smoothly on the page with high-quality black ink. The pen creates expressive, consistent lines with no skipping, smearing, or bleeding.

Machined Aluminum Body

Its machined aluminum body features a unique “half moon” shape that is comfortable to grip and ensures your pen doesn’t roll off your desk.

Tactile Click

The Blackwing Pen's hefty click is the result of a simple one-piece cam and magnetic cap.

Rollerball Ink Cartridge

Each pen includes a medium Schmidt rollerball cartridge with black ink that lays down a smooth, expressive line, but it will work with any capless rollerball cartridge.
